Eminent personalities

1. Dr. TIM Fazle Rabib Chowdhury (born October 1, 1934 in Talukjamira village of Harinathpur union in Palashbari upazila). He was elected a Member of Parliament six times and was the Hon'ble Minister in the Ministry of Land, Relief, Rehabilitation and Establishment, and played a key role in the development of roads and educational institutions.

2. The late Azizar Rahman (BSc) (born 15 December 1926) was an MPA in 1972. He was elected MPA in 1986 and 1980 and was the organizer of the Great Liberation War in 1971. He was the Upazila Chairman and UP Chairman of Barisal Union 4. He was engaged in many charitable works.
